Under the joint initiative of Thales and ELI-NP, a trip of science journalists from Europe was organized, meant to showcase the performances and perspectives of the Center's High Power Lasers. The participants had the unique opportunity to meet and discuss with key figures from Thales and ELI-NP/IFIN-HH, managers and scientists, learning the basics and sharing their experiences with Professor Gerard Mourou, the 2018 Nobel Laureate for Physics, who made these HPLs possible, and who started and led the Extreme Light Infrastructure project to its fulfillment.
